Why maple?
Very hard
Hard maple rates about 1,450 on the Janka hardness scale, harder than red oak (about 1,290) and cherry (about 950). Doors and drawer fronts stand up to everyday knocks.
Two stain grades
Natural Hard Maple keeps some of the light brown heartwood and a few mineral streaks, for a warmer, more natural look. White Hard Maple is selected for the pale sapwood, so the color is even from door to door. Both are Select grade.
Light to medium stains, or clear
Maple’s grain is tight and even, so it suits light to medium stains and a clear topcoat best. For a dark finish, walnut is the better choice.
Paint grade
Paint Grade Maple pairs a maple frame with a smooth MDF center panel, which stays flat under paint. Order it primed, painted in one of our colors, or unfinished.
What customers say about maple
Autumn D. Verified buyer on Concord Cabinet Door
A simply beautiful product. We bought cabinet doors and drawer fronts, painted, with the MDF centers/maple outer edge and they look stunning! The finish is super smooth and the color was beautiful. We ordered the "Simply White" paint color. We painted our 1980's oak bases and replaced the doors and they now look designer! It's amazing how great our remodeled kitchen looks!
We had to replace our existing kitchen drawers. Through The Cabinet Door Store we purchased two different types - the cheap "put-together yourself" ones and a large solid wood one. My only disappointment was that the cheap put-together ones were very rough cut and there was some splintering of the veneer that covered the wood sides. This was not even enough for me to contact their customer support, but it was a general disappointment personally as I'm a perfectionist. Aside from that minor annoyance, the drawer boxes were easy to put together and very strong once assembled. We had zero complaints with the solid wood drawer.
Overall our experience was SUPERB with this company!

These doors are really nice. I got the paint grade maple with MDF insert and sanded. These are really solid. I also got the holes pre drilled for the hinges which made installation super easy. It did take about a month to get the doors so you should plan accordingly. I took a chance and built the cabinets before receiving the doors but they met the specifications so the fit perfectly.

LOVE LOVE LOVE my new doors! I had The Cabinet Door Store paint them in Chantilly Lace and I painted my shelving, soffit, crown moulding and cabinet frames in Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace, it turned out a perfect match! Super happy with the doors, they transformed my kitchen out of the 50's! *Just in case anyone is interested (I know I always am). The flooring is Coretec Luxury Vinyl Plank Flooring- Essex Maple.

Doors and drawer fronts were all crafted and finished far superior than almost anyone could ever do in a home workshop. The sizes were exactly the size measurements I sent and the materials were prime grade maple with an outstanding quality stain and finish. Created a newly finished kitchen for a far, far lower price than any quote I got for the job.

Beautiful quality maple with nice grain, dimensions were precise. I am planning to order a full set for my kitchen cabinets in the near future.

Can I order maple doors in any size?
Yes. Every maple door and drawer front is made to the width and height you enter, and the product page shows the price as you go. How to measure
What's the difference between Natural Hard Maple and White Hard Maple?
Natural Hard Maple allows some of the light brown heartwood and mineral streaks, for a warmer, more varied look, and costs less. White Hard Maple is selected for the pale sapwood, so the color is even and light. Both are Select grade.
Can maple cabinet doors be painted?
Yes. Choose Paint Grade Maple, which has an MDF center panel that stays smooth under paint. Order it primed for your own paint, or painted in one of our paint colors.
Does maple take a dark stain?
Maple is best with light to medium stain colors or a clear topcoat; its tight grain takes dark stain less evenly than open-grained woods. For a dark finish, look at walnut.
