Shaker and Flat Panel Cabinet Door Styles

A flat center panel, ¼″ or ⅜″ thick, inside a solid hardwood frame with Mortise & Tenon joinery. The profiles around the panel and on the outside edge set the look, from the square edges of Shaker to the curves of the step-and-ogee. Every flat panel style also comes open for glass.

Shaker

Shaker is the simplest five-piece door: a flat panel set back inside a square-edged frame, with a crisp shadow line where the two meet.

From $41.06(3,645)

Breckenridge

Breckenridge carries the step-and-ogee curve on both the inside profile and the outside edge, around a ¼″ or ⅜″ flat panel or an open frame for glass.

From $41.06(808)

Concord

Concord pairs a flat panel with a step-and-ogee inside profile, the classic S-curve, and a crisp outside edge.

From $41.06(304)

Edgewater

Edgewater frames a flat panel with a soft step-and-slope inside profile and a gently rounded outside edge: a quiet, transitional door with a little more detail than Shaker.

From $41.06(666)

Heritage

Heritage sets a flat panel deep inside its frame with a bold, square-stepped rabbet profile, and finishes the outside with a soft ⅛″ roundover.

From $41.06(1)

Lancaster

Lancaster is a Shaker door with one extra detail: a ⅛″ rabbet cut around the outside edge, which gives it a thin stepped border.

From $41.06(49)

Lexington

Lexington combines the step-and-ogee inside profile with a softly rounded outside edge around a flat panel, ¼″ or ⅜″ thick, or open for glass.

From $41.06(191)

Raised Panel Cabinet Door Styles

A solid ⅝″ hardwood center panel with a shaped bevel, inside a Mortise & Tenon frame: the traditional cabinet door. Each raised panel style also comes with a ⅜″ flat panel, or open for glass.

Channing

Channing has a solid ⅝″ raised panel with a step-and-slope bevel, a matching step-and-slope inside profile and a softly rounded outside edge.

From $41.06(246)

Chesapeake

Chesapeake raises a solid ⅝″ center panel with a stepped, sloped bevel, inside a step-and-ogee frame with a crisp outside edge.

From $48.44(199)

Covington

Covington is a traditional raised-panel door: a solid ⅝″ panel with a stepped, curved bevel, inside a step-and-ogee frame with a matching step-and-ogee outside edge.

From $48.44(521)

MDF Cabinet Doors

One-piece doors for a painted kitchen, starting at about half the price of our hardwood doors.

MDF

Our MDF doors and drawer fronts are milled from one solid piece of smooth, refined MDF, so there are no frame joints to show through the paint. Choose Shaker, Slim Shaker or Benson, unfinished, primed or painted in one of our colors.

From $18.00(147)

Every style in every wood

Each wood has its own page with every door and drawer front in it, room photos and prices.

Cabinet door style questions

What are the main types of cabinet door styles?

Most cabinet doors are one of three types. A flat panel door, Shaker included, has a flat center panel inside a five-piece frame. A raised panel door has a thicker center panel with a shaped bevel. A one-piece door, like our MDF doors, is routed from a single panel. Within each type, the profiles cut into the frame give each style its own look. Read our guide to popular cabinet door styles.

What is a Shaker cabinet door?

A Shaker door is the simplest five-piece door: a flat panel set back inside a square-edged frame. Its clean lines suit farmhouse, transitional and modern kitchens, stained or painted. See our Shaker doors.

What’s the difference between flat panel and raised panel doors?

A flat panel door has a ¼″ or ⅜″ panel that sits flat inside the frame, for a simpler, more modern look. A raised panel door has a solid ⅝″ panel whose edges are shaped into a bevel, so the middle stands proud of the frame, for a traditional look.

Do the drawer fronts match the door styles?

Yes. Each of our doors has matching drawer fronts, with the same profiles, so the doors and drawers in your kitchen look alike.

Can I get any style in any wood or paint color?

Every hardwood style comes in each of our wood species, unfinished, stained or in one of our paint colors. MDF doors are for paint: unfinished, primed or painted.

Are the doors made to my size?

Yes. Every door is made to the width and height you order, in 1/16″ steps. See how to measure.
